A Journey Through Yoga

I will be holding my first workshop of the year at Zen Yoga, Camberwell on 9th April 2022 and I would love for you to join me.
We will be taking a journey through different styles of yoga, starting with a yin/yang style flow to get the body moving, creating energy through movement, building up some heat in the body before moving into some slower and more restorative poses as we start to bring our energy back down into something more nourishing, connecting us to our rest and digest response, and installing a deep rooted sense of calm into the mind and body.
We will finish our practice with a yoga nidra meditation. “Yoga Nidra” translates to “Yogic Sleep” where we will be practicing Pratyahara, the withdrawal of senses, this form of deep relaxation takes us into the hypnagogic state, the level of consciousness we hit just as we start to fall asleep, holding our awareness here and taking us into a beautiful deep state of bliss. A 30 minute yoga nidra practice has the same benefits as 2-4 hours of sleep, and creates a magical feeling of grounding and inner peace. Allowing us to leave our practice feeling utterly replenished and rejuvenated having spent our Saturday morning together, taking a well deserved break from our busy lives.
